Meet the Physician Assistant Program Director

Lauren Weindling, PA-C, MPAS

Lauren Weindling is an experienced physician assistant and instructor. Prior to earning her MS in Physician Assistant Studies, she earned her BS in Health Science from Duquesne University. For ten years, Lauren worked as a PA in the emergency departments of Washington Hospital in Pennsylvania and South Shore Hospital in Massachusetts.

Lauren joined University of Bridgeport’s faculty in 2017. With a focus on didactic education, she enjoys instructing her students about the value of medical interviewing and physical examination. She also offers mentorship to graduate students as they prepare to transition to clinical practice. In 2019, Lauren began serving as the program director for the Physician Assistant Institute. Her favorite part of working as a program director is seeing her students progress into confident, expert clinicians.

Outside of the classroom, Lauren is a board-certified physician assistant who practices with Connecticut Orthopedics. In addition to her clinical experience, she has also continued to further her education by completing the certificate program in Emergency Medicine from West Virginia University. Most recently, she earned her Certificate of Added Qualification in Emergency Medicine from the NCCPA.

Together, let’s start something great.
