The University of Bridgeport and Creative Partners have won the Bronze Award from the Ad Club of Connecticut for UB / in action, the University’s 2014 annual report.
The report was conceived of, edited, written, and directed by UB Director of Media Relations Leslie Geary and designed by Kim Heulsman of Creative Partners.
“The annual report comes out in December, but the process of creation begins many months before that. To be awarded for our work is exceedingly satisfying, as is working with my colleagues at University Relations and the talented team at Creative Partners,” said Geary.
UB Office University Relations staff members who helped to produce UB / in action include Director of Publications Larry Orman, Staff Photographer Kazuhiro Shoji, and Multimedia Specialist Takfumi Kojima.
The Ad Club of Connecticut’s 61st annual awards dinner was held on May 20 to recognize “the very best” in print, interactive and other media “with a focus on creativity and professionalism and creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising, marketing and promotion.”
UB / in action was released in December 2014 along with an interactive version by Web Content Manager Lisa Calderone. It was praised for its intelligent use of graphic icons, stunningly rich visuals, and narrative non-fiction to present an evocative review of the University’s accomplishments in four areas:
- Growing / highlighting expanded academic programs, growing enrollment, and new capital facilities on campus.
- Creating / showcasing achievements by alumni, students, and faculty in the Arts and Sciences, Medical Technology, Engineering and Design.
- Winning / profiling UB’s Fulbright Five faculty members, record-breaking athletes, and winners of prestigious national and international prizes, grants, and scholarships.
- Giving / featuring UB’s supporters and those in the campus community whose dedication shape the lives of students and others around the world.
This is the third year since 2010 that Geary and Creative Partners have won awards for annual reports they’ve produced on behalf of UB.
