The conference is for MSBE members, and will be held at Dana and Mandeville Halls. More than 110 NSBE members from NSBE’s northeast region are expected to attend.
The theme of this year’s event is “Executing PASSION from Within.” PASSION is the acronym for profession, action-oriented, strategic, integrity, out-of-the box, and never-ending.
“We are proud to host this important gathering of NSBE, where information will be presented to chapter representatives to help them enhance their qualities, enthusiasm, and determination as NSBE leaders,” said UB computer engineering student Roger Hercules, a member of the UB Chapter of NSBE. “It’s also a great opportunity to showcase engineering talent at UB.”
The NSBE was founded to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. With more than 30,000 members and 233 chapters on college and university campuses, it is one of the largest student-managed organizations in the United States.
UB formed its NSBE chapter in 2006. University of Bridgeport Computer Science and Engineering Chairman Stephen Grodzinsky advises the student organization on campus.
