Dr. James Lehman, associate professor of clinical sciences at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic, has been appointed Director of Health Sciences Postgraduate Education.

In his new position, Dr. Lehman is responsible for strengthening existing programs and relationships with the University’s current partners and developing new postgraduate educational opportunities related to the chiropractic, naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, dental hygiene, nutrition, and physician assistant professions.

“Dr. James Lehman brings a wealth of health care and business experience to the Department of Health Sciences Continuing Education, where he will guide the further development and evolution of this department,” said Division of Health Sciences Vice Provost Dr. David Brady, upon announcing the appointment.

“His vision,” Dr. Brady added, “includes bringing a broad range of postgraduate and continuing health care education opportunities to both UB alumni and other health care practitioners, with an emphasis on a collaborative and integrative model of patient care through programs designed and run by the University, and through programs in conjunction with our educational partners.”

Dr. Lehman is an associate professor of clinical sciences at the College of Chiropractic and is chairperson of the Chiropractic Research Committee at UB. Since 2009, he has been the team chiropractor for the Bridgeport Bluefish professional baseball players and staff.

Previously, Dr. Lehman served as a chiropractic orthopedist at the Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and mentored fourth-year medical clerks as an assistant clinical professor at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. A board-certified chiropractic orthopedist, he earned his doctorate in chiropractic medicine at the Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri.
