University of Bridgeport student organizations, along with area restaurants, invite the community to a fundraising luncheon to support the people of Haiti in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
The all-you-can-eat buffet runs from noon to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 2 at the John J. Cox Student Center, 244 University Avenue, Bridgeport.
Tickets to the lunch and a chance for a door prize cost $7 per person.
All proceeds will go to Hope for Haiti, a nonprofit foundation that for 25 years has worked to improve the quality of life for the people of Haiti, especially children, by supporting education, nutrition, and healthcare campaigns in that country.
Meg Orazio, a director at Hope for Haiti, will give a presentation about post-hurricane conditions and relief efforts in Haiti during the lunch.
The fundraiser is organized by the Design Management program at the Shintaro Akatsu School of Design; UB chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha and Alpha Phi Alpha; and the UB student clubs, Community Health Peer Educators and the Food Recovery Network.
Lunch for the fundraiser is being donated by Metric, Ronald’s Haitian Cuisine, Milah’s Cuisine, and other area restaurants.
