The Corporation for National and Community Service and the White House has named the University of Bridgeport to its annual Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

Launched in 2006, the Honor Roll highlights the role that colleges and universities play in solving community problems and in placing more students on a lifelong path of civic engagement by recognizing institutions that achieve meaningful, measurable outcomes in the communities they serve.

“Fifty percent of our students volunteer or engage in community service throughout the year, making a significant positive impact on the greater Bridgeport community and beyond,” said Dean of Students Edina Oestreicher. “We’re very proud their contributions have been recognized.”
