Greater Bridgeport-area health care agencies, counseling services, and elected officials will gather at the University of Bridgeport on Thursday, December 1, which is World AIDS Day, to strategize how to prevent the disease in local communities and better serve individuals with AIDS or who are HIV-positive.
The community-based consortium members meet annually.
This year, attendees include GBAPP, Bridgeport Health Department, CASA/Noble House, the City Of Bridgeport Mayor’s Office, Liberation Programs, NIA Alliance, Optimus Health Care, Inc., Pivot Ministries, Regional Network of Programs, and Southwest Community Health Center.
Representatives from Abbot Virology, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Gilead also will attend the AIDS Day session, which runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cox Student Center, 244 University Avenue.
