The Shelfhaudt Gallery Presents Two New Shows

The Schelfhaudt Gallery at the University of Bridgeport is pleased to announce two new exhibitions of uncommonly beautiful art, “Parts is Parts: Assemblage & Collage“ and “Remnants of Haiti,” opening with a public reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 11.

Both shows will be on view through March 19. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

It is located inside the Arnold Bernhard Center, 84 Iranistan Avenue, Bridgeport. Free offsite parking is available.

“Parts is Parts: Assemblage & Collage” consists of assemblages, appropriated images, and found objects that are manufactured and found in nature.

“Remnants of Haiti” features the art collection of Douglas Wade, a local Bridgeport businessman who has a fond interest of the Haitian culture. The collection consists for hand-painted metal mythological symbols as well as surrealist landscape, and sequenced weavings.

Featured artists include Camille Eskell, Robin Gilmore, D. Dominick Lombardi, Jane Lubin, Suprina, Susan Tabachnick, and Lubomir Tomaszewski.

Follow 95 service road to Iranistan Avenue
Turn right onto Iranistan
South past light to stop sign at Atlantic Avenue
Left onto Atlantic Avenue (one block)
Right onto Rennell
Right onto University
Enter from THE BUILDING’S PARKING LOT ENTRANCE (East side)
