Mayor Joe Ganim on “The University of Bridgeport and the Park City: A New Partnership Comes Alive”
The University of Bridgeport is proud to present Bridgeport Mayor Joseph P. Ganim on the future of the city and the University. He will speak on Tuesday, April 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the duPont Tower Room, Arnold Bernhard Center, 84 Iranistan Avenue, Bridgeport.
The event is open to the community.
Mayor Ganim will share his vision for the city’s future and how it can be positively shaped by working with the University. In particular, he will discuss revitalizing the gateway to UB and the South End, the city’s first-ever comprehensive Waterfront Plan, a new natural gas plant to replace the City’s landmark red-and-white coal-burning tower, and Steelpointe—one of the most significant public promenades in the region.
“The University of Bridgeport is my alma mater,” said Mayor Ganim. “Working closely and forging a strong partnership with this dynamic and innovative community is key in the City’s revitalization.”
Mayor Ganim will open the floor to questions and answers. There will also be light snacks.
“We welcome Mayor Ganim,” said UB President Neil Salonen. “The entire campus community is excited about the rebirth of this partnership with the City, which has the potential for many expanded opportunities.”
The Mayor’s talk has been organized by the Mass Communications Department at the University of Bridgeport.
